THE REPAIR PROCESS
At Cylinders, Inc., we take a comprehensive approach to every JCB cylinder repair. We understand that each cylinder is unique and requires tailored attention. Whether you have a welded, tie-rod, or telescopic cylinder, our team of experienced technicians knows the ins and outs of JCB hydraulics.
Our repair process includes the following steps:
The moment your JCB cylinder arrives, our experts get to work. We'll conduct a thorough inspection to pinpoint the exact problem, and then provide you with a clear and detailed repair authorization and estimate. No surprises, just honest communication every step of the way.
We're committed to getting your JCB back in action as quickly as possible. Our team will quickly source all the necessary parts for your repair, taking into account part availability and our current workload so we can give you the most accurate timeframe.
Once we have all the parts on hand, our skilled technicians will begin the repair process. We'll keep you updated on our progress and inform you of any changes to the estimated completion time. Your peace of mind is important to us.
We go the extra mile to ensure your JCB cylinder performs optimally and lasts longer. We utilize a "light" honing process on nearly every JCB cylinder we service to prevent internal leakage. If necessary, we can also remove additional material from the tube to achieve the best possible outcome.
Contact
Whether your JCB needs hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder repairs or you simply have a question, our knowledgeable team is ready to help. We're committed to keeping your equipment in peak condition, so don't hesitate to reach out!
Repair times vary based on several factors, including parts availability and our current workload. However, you can always count on our team to work as efficiently as possible while delivering reliable, high-quality service. Each situation is different and we’ll always keep you in the loop.
While we strive for long-lasting repairs, all hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders naturally wear over time. The lifespan of a repaired cylinder depends on several factors: operating conditions, usage intensity, and the presence of contaminants, extreme temperatures, or poor fluid quality. These conditions can accelerate seal wear and potentially shorten the cylinder's lifespan.
Keep an eye out for these common signs of a failing cylinder: contaminated oil or air, unexpected leaks, damaged seals or bent rods, slower cycle times, and reduced speed or productivity. Often, efficiency losses develop gradually, so it's important to be aware of early warning signs and address them right away.
JCB recommends changing the hydraulic fluid every 2,000 operating hours or every two years, whichever comes first. However, if your equipment operates in harsh conditions, you may need to change the fluid more frequently.
JCB recommends using its own brand of hydraulic fluid for optimal performance and protection. If their brand isn't available, any alternative that meets the JCB HP46 specification is a suitable choice.
