Services

Our Hydraulic Cylinder Repair Services

Our knowledge of hydraulic actuator specs and tolerances allows us to provide turnkey repair solutions that are cost-effective, long-lasting, and eliminate long lead delivery times.

Welding

Our certified welders perform MIG to fabricate frames and supports and repair faulty hydraulic cylinders. Their proficiency enables them to fix cylinders much faster resulting in shorter downtime time.

Honing

During the repair process, we condition the surface of the cylinder wall to provide a secure seal around it, ensure optimum lubricant retention, and prevent premature wear and tear of moving components.

Re-Chroming

Oftentimes, damage to the chroming of the hydraulic cylinder is reversible. We are both equipped and experienced to perform re-chroming, so your seemingly broken cylinders can be as good as new.

Resealing

Not only do we perform the re-sealing of hydraulic cylinders, but we also diagnose the cause of the problem. This way the malfunction won’t reappear in the nearest future, and your equipment will be ready to work again.

Grinding

Getting the surface of the hydraulic cylinder as smooth as possible is crucial for getting a perfect seal. Ensure the maximum productivity of your machinery by getting our professional hydraulic cylinder grinding services.

Polishing

Polishing is an important part of any hydraulic cylinder repair process. To ensure the maximum seal and long-lasting effect of our repair services, a thorough polishing of the cylinder rod is applied.

Pressure Testing

Our experts diagnose the condition of the hydraulic cylinder using various methods. The pressure testing procedure allows us to detect any integrity problems with the hydraulic cylinder's piston and further repair it.

Turning

Our technology makes it possible to fabricate premium, custom rotational parts with impeccable levels of accuracy and tolerances needed to successfully complete a hydraulic cylinder repair without replacing an entire system.

Straightening

Instead of wasting thousands of dollars on replacing bent hydraulic cylinder rods, trust our experts to get them straightened. This carefully performed procedure allows us to completely repair a hydraulic cylinder rod and get it back to work.

Cylinders

Types of Hydraulic Cylinders We Repair

Our warranty repairs deliver the strength and versatility needed for reliable industrial and mobile equipment performance. Whatever your requirements are, we can meet your needs.

Tie Rod Hydraulic Cylinder

Tie-Rod

Typically used in industrial factory applications, tie-rod style hydraulic cylinders have threaded steel rods to hold the two end caps to the cylinder barrel. They can be completely disassembled for service, repair, and customization.

Mill Duty Cylinders

Mill-Duty

Built for heavy-duty use and able to survive demanding environments, mill-duty cylinders can be screwed or welded. Despite their steel flanged end caps and heavy-duty tubing that withstands harsh conditions, they still require repair now and then.

Welded Hydraulic Cylinders

Welded

The end caps of these cylinders are welded directly onto the barrel, providing a lighter and more compact design. Because they are challenging to disassemble and repair, we sometimes recommend full replacement.

Single-Acting Cylinders

Single Acting

Due to its straightforward design, single-acting hydraulic cylinder repair is economical and easily managed by experts. Unlike a double-acting one, a single-acting cylinder only has one port, and hydraulic fluid flows unidirectionally.

Double-Acting Cylinders

Double Acting

These are rugged, reliable, energy-efficient, and the most commonly used and repaired hydraulic cylinder. The working fluid acts on both sites of the piston, delivering controlled acceleration and retraction. Double-acting cylinders are used in large-scale equipment  and steering mechanisms.

Custom Cylinders

Custom

No part number? No problem! You can count on our skilled engineers’ expertise and state-of-the-art equipment to rebuild and repair custom hydraulic cylinders to deliver outstanding quality and unsurpassed performance.

Sensor Cylinders

Sensor

Electric smart cylinders are built and adapted for direct stroke measurement, resulting in much higher replacement costs. Additional seals, separate signal wire chambers, and electronic ports are frequently required by sensor system components.

Hydraulic Ram

Hydraulic Ram Repair

Primarily used in lift systems of hydraulic jacks, automobile hoists, and elevators, a hydraulic ram is a sealed cylinder attached to a piston. Over time, the seals may start to leak oil and need to be resealed and repaired.

Our Hydraulic Cylinder Repair Process

Receiving

Our clients can choose to drop off their cylinder or we can arrange to have our service truck pick it up for you. While arranging delivery, we will discuss with you initial details regarding the cylinder.

Evaluation

After initial inspection upon receiving the cylinders, we will begin disassembly. Disassembly will allow us to clean the cylinder and assess each component for damage and wear, as well as create an inventory of seals and wear parts.

Quoting

After disassembly, we will provide an estimate for the repairs, taking into account which components can be restored and re-used and which need to be replaced.

Approval & Repair

Once the client has approved, our team will start repairing the cylinder. We recondition cylinder components or replace them and any other failed components with newly sourced or fabricated parts.

Report & Shipping

When you pick-up or our service truck delivers your repaired cylinder, if requested, you’ll receive a comprehensive report detailing all parts repaired and replaced, the root cause of failure, the quality test results, and recommended installation instructions.

Hydraulic Cylinder Repair FAQ

How much does it cost to fix a hydraulic cylinder?

The cost to fix a damaged or leaking hydraulic cylinder depends on several factors, such as the type of cylinder and whether the parts need to be replaced, repaired, or fabricated. If you contact us with your specific requirements, we'd be more than happy to provide you with an estimated quote.

How long will the cylinder last after the repair?

Regular maintenance on hydraulic cylinders is important for longevity and optimal performance. All our repairs come with a one-year warranty; however, cylinders often last longer when properly maintained.

Can you stop a hydraulic cylinder from leaking?

In most cases, we fix a leaking hydraulic cylinder by replacing a worn seal or valve. If it’s something more serious, our team will run diagnostic tests to determine the best repair solution.
